Luna Lovegood auditions tomorrow at school.

[07 Sep 2005|09:33pm]
School starts tomorrow. Year 12. I keep hearing from people how tough it is, how I must work hard constantly, and am now regretting the tiny sketchbook I bought last week to keep me occupied during lessons, like I do every year. Maybe this year, I may actually have to work. Hard.

Bit scary really.

As is the problem of what to wear. 11 years of school uniform, and now we are in the sixth form, we can wear what the fuck we like. Realising now that I have very little clothes, and will end up wearing the same thing every day - terrifying. Gods, I'm shallow.

I'm not commenting on people's posts for a while, I need time to settle in to school, finish my art project (should have finished already) and just relax. Anything interesting happens though, let me know. See you all soon.

An hour and a half later... [01 Sep 2005|08:36pm]
[ mood | angry ]

I have braces. Train tracks. I look like a fucking thirteen year old, despite the fact that I'm three fucking years older than that. Sorry about the shitty language, but I'm severely pissed off right now, at orthodontists for inflicting this shit on me, at dentists telling me I didn't need it when I was younger, and at time 'cos 18 months ain't gonna go quick.

Fuck it hurts.

[ mood | disappointed ]

Well, didn't do very well. I'm terribly disappointed with my results, as are my parents, and I know I did awful in English because I mis-read the question and did the opposite we were supposed to do. Too late now I guess.

Art: A*
English: A
Geography: A
Science Double Award: A
Maths: A
English Lit.:A
History: B
Spanish: B

Don't really know what to think now. Was predicted higher than I got, which is annoying. I'm pleased with Science and Maths though, and very happy with Art.

I really like Lost. Charlie is too cool for words, but I can tell Jack and Kate will get annoying after a while with their 'hero' thing. Ah well. I've been doing work experience this week, at a very good advertising agency in the middle of London. About half a minute from Oxford Street. Temptation temptation-but alas, I have no money, so the world is cruel. The Work Experience thing is cool however, but sometimes scary. I work with thirty-somethings and they are all very knowledgeable and intimidating and I really shouldn't be shy while I'm there, but I am. Well, it ends tomorrow, which is a shame because I like it, but a good thing because I hate photocopying and answering telephones.

Liked it, but couldn't love it. [02 Aug 2005|02:42pm]
[ mood | contemplative ]

So here it is. What I thought of Book Six, having finished it about an hour ago. No doubt my feelings will change over the next few weeks, months or whatever, but this is what I thought of the book.

Disappointing sums it up fairly well.

Here's whyCollapse )

I'm back, I've read the book, and I'll fill you all in when I have the time. But first, can someone tell me what the fuck happened to make all the H/Hr shippers so angry (apart from the sixth book). Something about Emerson from Mugglenet? I have absolutely no idea what's going on, and would really like to know, so links and info would be much appreciated. And also tell me what's been going on with your lives as well, we can save the HP musings for a little while longer till I have time to go into them in depth.

Edit Never mind, I've found what everyone is pissed about. Comments coming later.

Saw a hippo, a few deer, a crocodile, a bunch of waterbuffalo and other animals that i can't be bothered to recount. Oh, and we were walking right next to them. It was gorgeous, and tomorrow we are going on a safari so we can see even more animals!
Haven't managed to get hold of a book, will in a week hopefully, or just in the airport to read on the 11-hour journey back. I hope everyone is having fun with it though, and don't tell me anything in your comments becuase I might not have read the book yet. So NO SPOILERS please!
I'm having an unbelievable time here, and the day after tomorrow we will be going to a very small village nearby and building a jungle gym, or something to keep young kids occupied because many of them play on the motorway and therefore die, which is not great really. See you all soon!

In South Africa [13 Jul 2005|09:16pm]
but managed to get hold of an internet cafe (yay!) so I'm dropping you all a line here. It costs a bit too, so shall be sweet and short. Plane journey was ridiculously long but there was lots of movies (million dollar baby was one, so very sad and great) and I didn't sleep at all. Flew in at Durban, absolutely boiling and humid so I'm all sticky (grr). Drove to St Lucia today, so I'm on the way to see the elephants and crocodiles and all sorts, so shall try not to get eaten! I'm camping tonight and for the next couple of nights, which isn't as bad as it sounds because it's quite warm. I should be picking up HBP on Sunday when I'm back in a city, and shall try to read it as quickly as possible. But for those of you who are getting it on the 16th, grr but I'll be thinking of you and wishing that I can get my hands on one book, but I will really really soon. Hopefully.

Love you all!

Right, I'm off to South Africa for three weeks. I'll see you all when I've finished HBP, 'cos I'm not coming anywhere near a computer until I've read it. Love you all, have a good couple of weeks and see you when I get back!

No one saw that coming. For months everyone was on high alert, and then suddenly, boom. Bombs everywhere. I'm ok, was asleep and then my mum called me from work, crying, and wondering where my dad was, who works in the centre of London. He's fine, as are all my friends and family, but one of my friends was in Russell Sqaure, in one of the buildings when the bombs went off. She said she's never seen anything like it. I don't even want to imagine. Police cars and ambulances keep on driving up and down my road, which is quite close to the centre of London. It's just so surreal.
